Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmills Review
There are currently 5* models to choose from in the Carl Lewis motorised treadmill range. Each model improves on the previous one with the addition of extra features however they are all quality pieces of fitness equipment that are easily worth their price.

Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmill: MOTC99
The MOTC99 is the basic model in the range and features the following:
- speeds up to 8mph or around 12kph.
- a cushioned running belt which helps to reduce the pressure impact that running has on your knees.
- 6 preset programmes.
- 1 manual programme that you can set to suit your own ability.
- a backlit LCD screen for easy reading.
- a body fat reader to monitor your progress.
- speed controls on the handle bar for easy use.
- a 2 level manual incline.
- an easily foldable nature for storage. It also has good quality wheels which makes moving this heavy piece of equipment easy.
All of the models in the Carl Lewis range boast these basic features however for a few more dollars (or pounds) you can have one with a higher specification.
The MOT566 is the next in the series. The only difference between this and the MOTC99 is the maximum speed – 10mph as apposed to 8mph. This means it is more suited to advanced runners who like to add sprints into their workouts.
The MOTP12 is again a step up and offers a motorised incline function which allows you to run on any gradient up to 10% and a clip on sensor which measures your pulse through your finger. This neat addition means you can monitor your pulse throughout your workout and keep it within the required range i.e. for fat burning, performance or fitness. This model of the Carl Lewis range is the most popular and offers great value for money.

Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmill - Good Value For Money
If you really want to push the boat out though, then the MOTY5 and the MOTZ10 are the choices for you. Both of these models have a futuristic motion control function which allows you to change your speed simply by waving your hand in front of the console. They also have hydrolic cylinders which fold up the running platform without you having to do it. Obviously, they lower it down again as well. These treadmills come with 14 programmes – 12 presets, 1 manual and a target programme that you set according to your personal goals – and a console which measures distance run, calories burned, speed and your pulse (as mentioned above).
Overall, the Carl Lewis range of motorised treadmills is good value for money. They offer all of the functions you’ll need, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or an accomplished runner, and are easy to assemble and easy to use. The only real drawback is that they are heavy to move but once in position they are a quality piece of fitness equipment that should last a good number of years, even with regular use.

Understanding The Technical Aspects of Motorised Treadmill

Understanding Technical Aspects of Treadmill
When purchasing a motorised treadmill, the technical aspect can be quite confusing for some people. Horsepower and technical specifications will be listed on the sales tag. But what does all this really mean?
Horsepower is the measurement used to determine the power output of various types of motors, including electric motors. Treadmills use electric motors to propel the machinery that runs the belt and other mechanical parts. Horse power will be expressed by 1HP to 3HP.
Along side the horsepower will be the term “continuous duty motor”. There are two terms that are used for all motors to describe their use over a long period of time. Continuous duty and intermittent duty are the two terms. Continuous duty motors are rated to run for long periods of time without shortening the life of the motor. Conversely, intermittent duty motors must be allowed to cool in between running’s.
When it comes to treadmills continuous duty is a more important aspect than horsepower. Treadmills are meant to be used for periods of twenty minutes or more. Therefore, durability is more important from a technical aspect than power output.
Another technical term used to describe treadmills is hydra suspension. Hydra suspension is the use of two gas cylinders within the front portion of the treadmill to control shock absorption. These gas cylinders absorb the vibrations that are causes by running or walking on the treadmill, thereby making it smoother.

Choosing The Right Treadmills
The suspension is an important aspect in choosing a treadmill. When the body absorbs the vibrations that are caused by running and walking it causes damage to the joints. Therefore, the less vibration that is absorbed the healthier exercising will be.
The last technical term that tends to confuse consumers is worm-gear elevation motor. A worm-gear motor is constructed of the worm shaft and the gear shaft. For every complete turn of the worm shaft the gear shaft only advances one tooth. This gear system is to control and reduce the speed of the motor. When the motor is not in use this system acts as a braking mechanism to prolong the life of the motor. Overall, this technical aspect is not that important when choosing a treadmill.
The most important thing to remember when purchasing a treadmill is durability. While the horsepower and gear speed are very impressive, they do not mean much where product quality is concerned. Always buy according to stability of the product over the long term.

Tips for Buying the Right Motorised Treadmill

Motorised Treadmill For Home Exercise
Owning a motorised treadmill does not seem an impossible thing today as it used to be some time ago. Today, such home exercise has become very common that most people can buy or purchase with the variety of choices out there by manufacturers of all sorts. An electric treadmill no longer belongs to the category where only the rich or the professionals can have. We, the general consumers can also own one with the price range becoming more and more affordable.
Since owning a motorised treadmill is such a reachable goal, therefore we should make some consideration before buying one. What are the things that we could consider?
Initially, we could think of the use that we are going to put on the machine. Is it for commercial or home use? Let’s assume that we’re considering home exercise, so I guess the main use is for the home. Thus, we should consider buying a treadmill that has functions and features that could fit the whole family, from the grandparents to the grandchildren. From this point, we could not try to buy one that is too high tech or heavy duty that is not very much suitable for the old or the very young.
Next, we could consider the space of the house. Do we have a space big enough to place an electric treadmill? As we all know, an electric treadmill is unlike some home exercise equipment such as dumbbells and abs equipments which are smaller in size and could be kept in the closet or such. Such treadmill could be compared as a piece of furniture. Therefore, do we have space in the house to place an extra piece of furniture? If there is, how big or how spacious is the corner? With the space we have, we could consider the size of the machine that could fit the available size, whether a bigger one or a smaller one.
Then, of course, we would consider budget. How much can we afford to spend? When we’ve set the budget, we could look at machines that are within our budget range. This will narrow the wide choices that are available in the market. We would no longer need to scrutinize all available products in the market, which could take up a long time.

Looking For The Right Motorised Treadmill
When we have decided on the size and cost of the motorised treadmill that we want, we then have to specify our choices based on features. Do we want it to have handrails? Do we need a heartbeat monitor? Do we want a speedometer? Based on these features, we could then browse through the choices that we have streamed down from the initial considerations.
So, do we have the most suitable choice now? Probably we now have fewer options. From the last few options, we could now consider the manufacturing details. We could compare the warranties that each is providing. Do consider one which could give at least one year warranty to ensure your maximum benefits. Then we could also consider the reputation of the manufacturer. Is the manufacturer reputable to be trustworthy? Has any product from the manufacturer being reported flawed for numerous time? Has there been any serious complains about the manufacturer? How other consumers comment about the manufacturer or the product? These are some of the questions that you could consider in order to find the best manufacturer that produce the best product for your use.
For consumer like me, who generally would buy an electric treadmill for use in the house, these are some minor considerations that could ensure that I buy one that is most suitable for me. It might not appeal to all, but maybe some.

Fast Lane to Weight Loss: the Motorised Treadmill
These days just about everyone is looking for a way to shed some unwanted pounds. We live busy lifestyles that don’t always leave us eating the best diet and no one wants to live at the gym. So what is a person to do to win the battle of the bulge? A little over a year ago, I asked myself this same question. Having a baby had really taken a toll on my body and I had almost fifty pounds of excess weight on my once smaller and more toned body.
So I set out determined to make a difference in my body and lose some serious poundage. Believe me, I tried several different forms of exercise, but the results weren’t coming quickly enough to keep me motivated.
Like many people before me, I discovered the advantages of motorised treadmills. Most people start out walking so I got on and walked at a comfortable pace for thirty minutes. Everyday, I would set the speed a little faster or stay on a little longer and my body just started to transform. I was definitely becoming addicted.

Weight Loss
Having a motorised treadmill in your home is a very good option for many people to lose weight. You can be completely distracted from exercising by watching television or listening to your favorite music. Or if you’re like me, just go to the gym and use on of theirs.
To keep you motivated, many motorised treadmills have a computerized screen that shows you the time you’ve been on, the distance you’ve been, and here comes the best part, the number of calories you’ve burned. You really will be amazed to see this number constantly changing! It might even spur you to stay on a little longer.
Many people have had injuries to their ankles or knees and this make the motor powered treadmill a viable option for them. Unlike walking, jogging, or running on the road, a treadmill provides cushioning and shock absorption. This can definitely save people from injuries and still allow them to lose some considerable weight and tone their body.
It’s about to be that dreaded time of year for many people: swimsuit season! Don’t you owe it to yourself to look better, feel better, and become healthier? So, go on out and use a motorised treadmill, whether it be your own or the one down at the gym. You really will see results and lose weight quickly with a little hard work and dedication. You, too, will become addicted to the treadmill!”
