Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmills Review
There are currently 5* models to choose from in the Carl Lewis motorised treadmill range. Each model improves on the previous one with the addition of extra features however they are all quality pieces of fitness equipment that are easily worth their price.

Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmill: MOTC99
The MOTC99 is the basic model in the range and features the following:
- speeds up to 8mph or around 12kph.
- a cushioned running belt which helps to reduce the pressure impact that running has on your knees.
- 6 preset programmes.
- 1 manual programme that you can set to suit your own ability.
- a backlit LCD screen for easy reading.
- a body fat reader to monitor your progress.
- speed controls on the handle bar for easy use.
- a 2 level manual incline.
- an easily foldable nature for storage. It also has good quality wheels which makes moving this heavy piece of equipment easy.
All of the models in the Carl Lewis range boast these basic features however for a few more dollars (or pounds) you can have one with a higher specification.
The MOT566 is the next in the series. The only difference between this and the MOTC99 is the maximum speed – 10mph as apposed to 8mph. This means it is more suited to advanced runners who like to add sprints into their workouts.
The MOTP12 is again a step up and offers a motorised incline function which allows you to run on any gradient up to 10% and a clip on sensor which measures your pulse through your finger. This neat addition means you can monitor your pulse throughout your workout and keep it within the required range i.e. for fat burning, performance or fitness. This model of the Carl Lewis range is the most popular and offers great value for money.

Carl Lewis Motorised Treadmill - Good Value For Money
If you really want to push the boat out though, then the MOTY5 and the MOTZ10 are the choices for you. Both of these models have a futuristic motion control function which allows you to change your speed simply by waving your hand in front of the console. They also have hydrolic cylinders which fold up the running platform without you having to do it. Obviously, they lower it down again as well. These treadmills come with 14 programmes – 12 presets, 1 manual and a target programme that you set according to your personal goals – and a console which measures distance run, calories burned, speed and your pulse (as mentioned above).
Overall, the Carl Lewis range of motorised treadmills is good value for money. They offer all of the functions you’ll need, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or an accomplished runner, and are easy to assemble and easy to use. The only real drawback is that they are heavy to move but once in position they are a quality piece of fitness equipment that should last a good number of years, even with regular use.
